satsuma rosemary splash

It's Friday; you deserve a cocktail. Why not treat yourself to an ultra refreshing and simple Satsuma Rosemary Splash? It's a drink made from a few in-season ingredients that's sure to please.

On my way home today I decided to swing past the market and noticed that satsuma mandarins were on sale. Growing up, tangerines were one of my favorites and always around the house when in season, so obviously my first thought upon seeing them was 'oooh, it's cocktail time'. (my brain works in mysterious ways...)

This lightly sweet and vibrant cocktail will make you feel like a kid again (minus the whole alcohol thing...) and tastes best when enjoyed on a patio chair under the sun.

Here's how you do it-

What you'll need: 1.5 oz fresh satsuma or tangerine juice (I got enough juice from 1 medium satsuma), 3/4 oz lemon juice, 3/4 oz orange liqueur (I used Grand Marnier), 1.5 oz vodka,2 sprigs of rosemary, ice for shaking and serving, a juicer, a jigger, and a cocktail shaker.

This cocktail is super simple. First, you're going to measure and throw all of the liquid ingredients and shaking ice into your cocktail shaker.

Then, rip up a small sprig of rosemary with your fingers and throw it into the shaker too. Shake it all up, strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube, and enjoy!

Garnish with an large sprig of rosemary and drink up!
